I, Richard Plantagenet: Book One: Tante le Desiree eBook: Reedman, J.P.: : Kindle Store/5(41). This is an excellent book both in it's history and humour. Richard Plantagenet lives through these pages as a real man of his time. I would highly recommend this wonderful book to anyone with a love of this period of our history. Brilliant/5(41).

Henry II is the most imposing figure among the medieval kings of England. His fiefs and domains extended from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, and his court was frequented by the greatest thinkers and men of letters of his time, besides ambassadors from all over Europe. This readable and accessible biography offers both a study of his character, and an estimate of his work as a ruler, work. The Yorkist king Richard III was the last of his house, when he was killed in battle on Bosworth Field, to be displaced by the Tudors, it was the end of an era. The male line of the Plantagenets became extinct with the execution in of Edward, Earl of Warwick, the son of George, Duke of Clarence, in the reign of Henry VII, the first Tudor.

About The Last Plantagenet. It is not claiming too much to say that here the veil has been raised and that throughout the book a bright light plays on this century of excitement and romance and stories stranger than fiction. the last section of the book is devoted to a summary of the case of Richard III. Was Richard the villainous. - Explore coffeysears's board "Plantagenet", followed by people on Pinterest. See more ideas about Plantagenet, English history, British history pins.

The Plantagenets By Dan Jones tells the story of the first eight Plantagenet monarchs that ruled England between andbeginning with Henry I and ending at the fall of Richard II. Each monarch in turn has his story told; which wars he fought in, the land he gained and lost, who he married and who his children were/5(K).

Much study was needed for this book, more than any other I have written thus far, and I would recommend ‘The Road to Bosworth’ and ‘Barnet and Tewkesbury’ by P.W.

"Richard Plantagenet, 3rd Duke of York, 6th Earl of March, 4th Earl of Cambridge, and 7th Earl of Ulster, conventionally called Richard of York (21 September – 30 December ) was a leading English magnate, great-grandson of King Edward III.

He inherited great estates, and served in various offices of state in France at the end of the. The first person, as I understand it, to use the name "Plantagenet" was Richard, Duke of York, father of Edward IV and Richard III.

None of these people even feature in this book. I was glad to see a proper treatment regarding Richard I and Edward I. Too often, people glorify these two. The author seems to have an aversion to commas/5(K).

Much has been written in fiction, and in some non-fiction, about the love between King Richard III and his wife, Anne Neville. But what if it isn't true. What if Richard's mistress was the great love of his life. Richard had two illegitimate children whom he acknowledged: John of Gloucester and Katherine Plantagenet.
